DMX Rushed To The Hospital Suffering From Food Poisoning

Dark Man X had a run in with some bad seafood yesterday (January 25) and as a result had to spend four hours in the emergency room at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C., just outside of Charlotte according to TMZ.

DMX reportedly ate some bad shrimp at the Miami home of the mother of one of his kids. After boarding a flight from Miami to Charlotte the rapper became ill, spending the entire flight vomiting in the aircraft's lavatory. Once the plane landed X was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for food poisoning then released.

"Basketball Wives" Hoping to Snag Vanessa Bryant

Vanessa Bryant has become the current target of Vh1's "Basketball Wives" producers, who are doing everything in their power to snag the recently divorced basketball wife.

TMZ spoke with sources close to production, who say producers are putting together "an extremely lucrative pitch for Vanessa" in order for her to become a recurring character. The people involved with the show think Vanessa's situation will bring the show to the next level.

Producers were allegedly never interested in Vanessa while she was married to Kobe, whom they thought would never have been on board for Vanessa to appear on the show.

Now that BBW is one of the highest rated shows on the network, producers have a lot more money to spend on new talent, and they know Vanessa will be expensive to get. If Vanessa accepts the producer's offer, then she'll be made the lead character on the L.A. edition.

Comedian Tracy Morgan Rushed To The Hospital After Collapsing At Sundance Film Festival

Tracy Morgan was rushed to a hospital yesterday in Park City, Utah after collapsing following an awards ceremony at the Sundance Film Festival Sunday (January 22).

The "30 Rock" star was being honored at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards with the Spotlight Initiative Award when he fell ill according to ABC News. Tracy reportedly “was acting extremely inebriated, yelling and falling onto the ground.

Morgan's reps released a statement earlier today regarding his condition, denying he was intoxicated.

From a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention … He is with his fiance and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false," read the statement.

Amy Roberts, a spokeswoman for Park City Medical Center, where Morgan was treated also confirmed that no drugs or alcohol were found in Tracy’s system when he was evaluated.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. told ABC News that Morgan was "doing fine."

Jay-Z's Newly Renovated40/40 Club Shut Down By New York Health Inspectors After Racking Up 69 Food Violation Points

One day after a grand re-opening that featured A-list guests like Warren Buffet, Spike Lee, Lance Bass and Russell Simmons, Jay-Z's 40/40 Club was shut down by New York's Health Department Thursday (January 19).

Among the violations seen by health inspectors according to the New York Post, included a worker mixing salsa with his bare hands. Five pounds of cooked mashed potatoes left out at a temperature of 89F, while 10 pounds of cooked rice and 50 turkey burgers were kept at 67F. All the hot foods should be at least 140F.

In addition to those violations, the refrigerator was at a rancid 60F instead of 41F, putting at jeopardy the safety of 50 pounds of raw chicken wings, five pounds of raw shrimp and 100 turkey burgers.

If you have a walk-in place with food like this, you put a hell of a lot of people at risk,” said a source. “A night of dinner and dancing should not include the risk of contracting food-borne illness.

Club patrons already inside the establishment were allowed to stay, but new customers were turned away.

Although the problems were corrected and the club was allowed to open again for business on Friday, there could be big trouble looming for the establishment.

The club was given 69 violation points. Only 28 violations points are needed for a restaurant to be given the worst possible "C" grade. Restaurants with a "C" grade are forced to post a "C" in their storefront windows which is horrible for business.

"It's killing us," a host at Reme Restaurant told the New York Daily News of the dreaded "C" grade. "People see the C and they walk away."

During an inspection of Hov's 40/40 club in February 2011, it "racked up 39 violation points for problems including improperly handled food and unsanitary conditions."

It's not a good sign for a club that just underwent $10 million dollars in renovations. It will be adjudicated at a hearing next month.
